minecraft.jar with an archive editor (WinRar/7-Zip/etc).Find and download a suitable version of OptiFine HD.
Drag and drop the downloaded texture pack into the resource packs folder. Type in %APPDATA%/.minecraft/bin and hit enter. Go back to Minecraft and select the Faithful 32×32 pack. 
Run Minecraft, select Resource Packs, select “Open resource pack folder”. Download the latest pack from the download section or the customizer. Go back to Minecraft and select the Faithful 32×32 pack and you are done. Drag and drop the downloaded pack into the resource pack folder. Run Minecraft, select “Options…”, select “Resource Packs”, select “Open resource pack folder”. Download the latest pack from the download section. The first method is recommended for resource packs that are 8×8 or 16×16 in resolution, and the other two methods are recommended for packs HD, with resolution up to 32×32 to 512×512! I hope you understand the what about the resolution, and you need to install any packs. See below for the 3 methods! To install resource packs in Minecraft 1.12.2 and 1.11.2, it is not very hard! A pack in 1.12 and 1.11 can be installed in 3 ways, basic, MCPatcher HD and Optifine HD method.
